This technique uses a combination of translucent red jelly gel and porcelain white magnetic polish to create a dimensional chasing light effect down the center of the nail. Steps
- 1Apply first coat of red base color
Apply the first coat of red base color evenly onto the prepped nail plate using the nail polish brush, restoring the natural nail bed appearance. Ensure smooth coverage from the cuticle area to the free edge, and cure under a UV or LED lamp as required.
Tip: Keep the initial base coat thin to prevent pooling around the cuticles and ensure proper curing. - 2Apply second coat of red base color
Apply a second layer of the red base color to enrich the wine tint and achieve full, opaque coverage across the nail plate. Ensure smooth application along the cuticle line and cap the free edge.
Tip: Applying thin, even coats prevents bubbling and ensures the color cures evenly under the lamp. - 3Apply porcelain white cat eye gel
Apply an even layer of porcelain white cat eye gel directly over the cured red base coat without curing it yet. This specialized cat eye gel will interact with the magnet to create the desired dimensional light effect.
Tip: Do not cure the cat eye layer before using the magnet, as the magnetic particles need wet gel to move freely. - 4Create wide cat eye light band
Position a nail magnet close to the uncured cat eye gel to draw out the magnetic particles. First, absorb and pull the particles into a wide light band spanning across the nail surface.
Tip: Keep the magnet steady and close enough to affect the particles without touching the wet gel surface. - 5Condense into a centered bright line
Rotate and adjust the angle of the magnet to further concentrate the dispersed magnetic particles. Gather the cat eye light tightly into a sharp, luminous bright line right down the center of the nail.
Tip: Quickly flash cure the nail under a mini LED light as soon as you get the desired line to prevent the particles from shifting back. - 6Apply translucent red tint layer
Apply another thin layer of translucent red gel over the cured cat eye effect. This step deepens the color saturation and creates a multidimensional glass-like red wine tint over the magnetic light.
Tip: Make sure this tint layer is thin and even so the cat eye light remains clearly visible underneath. - 7Create dark gradient on the fingertip
